ATTENDING THE BOARD MEETING IN-PERSON:

The meeting will be held at the IKEA Performing Arts Center, 400 S 2nd St, Renton, WA 98057. Registration is encouraged to attend the November 9, 2022 School Board Regular Meeting in-person. Register to attend in-person.

Below is general information regarding attending the meeting in-person:

• Registered attendees will receive an email confirming their registration. Attendees can expect to receive a confirmation email the afternoon of the scheduled board meeting.
• Registration closes at 12:00pm the day of the scheduled board meeting.
• Face masks are optional.

PUBLIC COMMENT

The Renton School Board recognizes the value of public comment on educational issues and the importance of involving members of the public in its meetings. According to Policy 1400, in order to permit fair and orderly expression of public comment, the board will provide two opportunities during the meeting when attendees may address the board on any topic within the scope of the board’s responsibility. We may be able to accommodate up to 20 public speakers, with an aim to balance in-person and online contributions. Delegations are limited to three minutes per speaker.

While conducting meetings in a hybrid model (both in-person and online attendance), the board will ask for those who wish to speak to make their request at the beginning of the meeting in order to balance contributions. In-person, attendees will fill out a “request to comment” card (previous policy for in-person comments). Online attendees will be provided a link to complete a request to comment, Opens In New Window during the meeting. Contact Renton School District to request link for public comment.

Written public comment may be emailed to Board Public Comment.

Written public comments will be forwarded to Board members as correspondence and will become a part of the record.
