2025 DI cross country regional recap, auto bids π
All nine of the 2025 DI cross country regional championships were held Friday, Nov. 14. Teams competed for regional titles and an automatic bid to the DI national championships. We saw over seven hours of continuous cross country races, with big names stepping up to deliver championship-level performances.

Automatic bids
The top two finishing teams in each regional secure automatic bids to the championship. Here are the automatic qualifying teams.

The first four regional finishers not from an automatic qualifying or at-large team also secure an auto-bid to the championships. While the at-large teams won't be decided until the selection show at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday, Nov. 15, here's a look at the top four finishers from non-AQ teams in each region.

RESULTS - Mountain regional men: New Mexico's Habtom Samuel, Lobo team wins titles
New Mexico's Habtom Samuel won the men's individual title, finishing the Mountain regional in 29:45.3. The sophomore sensation freshman defeated his teammate Evans Kiplagat in second and Air Force's Jayden Nats in third.
New Mexico also won the Mountain region men's team title with runners finishing in 1-2-4-7-23. BYU finished second with runners in 5-6-10-21-25 to secure the second automatic qualifying bid.
RESULTS - Mid-Atlantic regional men: Georgetown's Birhanu Harriman, Princeton team wins titles
Georgetown's Birhanu Harriman won the men's individual title, finishing the Mid-Atlantic regional in 29:20.6. Harriman defeated Princeton's Myles Hogan in second.
Princeton won the Mid-Atlantic region men's team title with runners finishing in 2-4-5-15-19. Georgetown finished second with runners in 1-9-11-14-28 to secure the second automatic qualifying bid.
RESULTS - West regional men: Washington State's Solomon Kipchoge, Stanford team wins titles
Washington State's Solomon Kipchoge won the men's individual title, finishing the West regional in 28:54.4. Kipchoge defeated his teammate Evans Kurui in second place and Stanford's Leo Young in third place.
Oregon won the West region men's team title with runners finishing in 6-7-8-11-23. California Baptist finished second with runners in 13-15-16-21-30 to secure the second automatic qualifying bid.
RESULTS - Mountain regional women: BYU's Jane Hedengren, New Mexico team wins titles
BYU's Jane Hedengren won the women's individual title, finishing the Mountain regional in 19:06.6. The true freshman defeated New Mexico's Pamela Kosgei in second place.
New Mexico won the Mountain region women's team title with runners finishing in 2-5-10-13-15. BYU finished second with runners in 1-3-9-16-18 to secure the second automatic qualifying bid.

RESULTS - Great Lakes regional men: Cincinnati's Nickson Kogei, Notre Dame team wins titles
Cincinnati's Nickson Kogei won the men's individual title, finishing the Great Lakes regional in 29:42.74. Kogei defeated Butler's Jesse Hamlin in second place.
Notre Dame won the Great Lakes region men's team title with runners finishing in 3-9-13-17-18. Butler finished second with runners in 2-4-15-25-29 to secure the second automatic qualifying bid.
RESULTS - Mid-Atlantic regional men: West Virginia's Joy Naukot, Mountaineer team wins titles
West Virginia's Joy Naukot won the women's individual title, finishing the Mid-Atlantic regional in 19:11.8. Naukot defeated her teammate Mercy Kinyanjui in second and Georgetown's Melissa Riggins in third.
The Mountaineers won the Mid-Atlantic region women's team title with runners finishing in 1-2-6-19-28. Georgetown finished second with runners in 3-10-13-16-20 to secure the second automatic qualifying bid.
RESULTS - West regional women: Washington State's Rosemary Longisa, Stanford team wins titles
Washington State's Rosemary Longisa won the women's individual title, finishing the West regional in 19:08.3. Longisa defeated Oregon's Diana Cherotich in second place.
Stanford won the West region women's team title with runners finishing in 4-5-10-18-29. Oregon finished second with runners in 2-3-9-12-49 to secure the second automatic qualifying bid.
RESULTS - Northeast regional men: Hofstra's Fredrick Kipkosgein, Syracuse team wins titles
Hofstra's Fredrick Kipkosgein won the men's individual title, finishing the Northeast regional in 19:52.8. Kipkosgein defeated Syracuse's Peter Walsdorf in second place.
Syracuse won the Northeast region men's team title with runners finishing in 2-6-7-8-9. Iona finished second with runners in 4-13-18-29-31 to secure the second automatic qualifying bid.
RESULTS - Midwest regional men: Oklahoma State' Denis Kipngetich, Cowboys team wins titles
Oklahoma State's Denis Kipngetich won his third straight Midwest regional men's individual title, finishing in 29:42.8. Kipngetich defeated three Iowa State runners from second through fourth β Joash Ruto, Robin Kwemoi Bera and Sanele Masondo.
The Cowboys outpaced Iowa State to win the Midwest region men's team title for the third straight time. Oklahoma State runners finished in 1-5-6-9-17. Iowa State finished second with runners in 2-3-4-10-22 to secure the second automatic qualifying bid.

RESULTS - South Central regional men: Arkansas' Timothy Chesondin, Tulane team wins titles
Arkansas' Timothy Chesondin won the men's individual title on his home course, finishing the South Central regional in 28:44.4. Chesondin defeated a pair of Green Wave runners in second and third, Bernard Cheruiyot and Silas Kiptanui.
Tulane won the South Central region men's team title with runners finishing in 2-3-11-12-16. The Green Wave benefited from its fifth runner, overcoming Arkansas having four runners in the top six. The Razorbacks finished second with runners in 1-4-5-6-30 to secure the second automatic qualifying bid.
RESULTS - Southeast regional men: Wake Forest's Rocky Hansen, Demon Deacons team wins titles
Wake Forest's Rocky Hansen won the men's individual title, finishing the Southeast regional in 29:10.4. Hansen defeated Louisville's Elsingi Kipruto who finished in second place.
Hansen helped lead the Demon Deacons to the Southeast region men's team title with runners finishing in 1-9-10-16-19. Eastern Kentucky finished second with runners in 3-6-15-18-26 to secure the second automatic qualifying bid.
RESULTS - Northeast regional women: Army's Charlotte Richman, Boston College team wins titles
Army's Charlotte Richman won the women's individual title, finishing the Northeast regional in 19:52.8. Richman defeated Boston College's Imogen Gardiner in second place.
Boston College won the Northeast region women's team title with runners finishing in 2-5-12-19-22. Providence finished second with runners in 6-7-9-24-25 to secure the second automatic qualifying bid.
RESULTS - Great Lakes regional women: Notre Dame's Amaya Aramini, Fighting Irish team wins titles
Notre Dame's Amaya Aramini won the women's individual title, finishing the Great Lakes regional in 19:37.97. Aramini defeated her teammate Mary Bonner Dalton in second and Michigan State's Rachel Forsyth in third.
The Fighting Irish also won the Great Lakes region women's team title with runners finishing in1-2-5-6-8. Wisconsin finished second with runners in 10-17-19-22-27 to secure the second automatic qualifying bid.
RESULTS - South regional men: Florida's Kelvin Cheruiyot, Alabama team wins titles
Florida's Kelvin Cheruiyot won the men's individual title, finishing the South regional in 29:09.1. Cheruiyot continues his undefeated start this year, becoming the first Florida man to qualify for NCAAs since 2015. Alabama's Dismus Lokira and Auburn's Nickson Chebii finished in second and third place, respectively.
Alabama won the South region men's team title with runners finishing in 2-3-8-10-13. Ole Miss finished second with runners in 4-5-11-17-25 to secure the second automatic qualifying bid.
